Unbearable slowness

Unbearable slowness

Urgh, Globat might be incredibly cheap, but the frequent unbearable sluggishness is really getting to me 🙁 This can be a problem if my site gets real slow at a time when I need to do online learning with my class. So I decided to spring for a different host i.e. Focushub, which offers local i.e. Singapore-based hosting. It might not be as cheap as say differenthost but users in local forums claim that it is more reliable. Ah well,…

the “iCheap” arrives

the “iCheap” arrives

More than a year ago, I decided that I needed a desktop Macintosh; alas, Apple’s consumer desktops i.e. the eMac and iMac, all offered integeated monitors, which I simply do not need. Sure, I could make worksheets downloadable off site, but surely there’s more that I can do with an online presence? So I did some research online, and it led me to Moodle This is a Course Management Software (CMS) that has so many amazing features, it’s shocking that it’s actually FREE. If you…

Firefox Extensions rock!

Firefox Extensions rock!

And all you need to do is look at this article on O’Grady’s PowerPage to see why. I have been using Safari rather faithfully since I got OS X 10.3 (“Panther”) on my Mac, but the additional functionality and speed boost that Firefox gets with these tweaks really tempt me (hey, at least it’s not Internet Explorer 👿 )
