Mambo template tutorial

Finally got around to trying out this Mambo template tutorial using Dreamweaver and it’s suprisingly easy to follow! It’s no wonder so many free (yet well-designed) templates for Mambo are plentiful. Being a very un-artistic person, I doubt I’ll be designing a Mambo template any time soon, but I just might try converting a nice template or two into Mambo. Counting down to the June school holidays….

Am thinking of some day tightening the integration of my current photo gallery, which is presently running on Coppermine Photo Gallery, into my blog. Sure, it’s on a theme that’s exactly the same as my blog’s, but I think it can go further. This tutorial should come in handy the day I decide to do it.

YES! Thanks to this tip on creating true static pages for WordPress 1.5, I have been able to get the About Me and Tech sections looking right again with just minor tweaking! Then I rearranged the ordering of the menu items in the default theme’s sidebar.php and..voila! It is all as it should be now. 🙂 BTW I also came across another way of adding static pages to WP over here.

Well I’ve heard of “words” like n00b, w00t and kewl (no thanks to my 1.5-year experience as a Diablo 2 addict on Battle.net, but apparently there’s a lot more of such “vocabulary” going around. Check out this parent’s primer to computer slang, published by…gasp!…none other than Microsoft itself. hmm, no wonder many of my students’ vocabulary and spelling absolutely suxx. :-O
