Other notable blogging systems
Although I’d set up a demo site for Plume CMS after quite a bit of research, I continued to try out other multi-blog systems to see see which would be best for deployment at my school.
The one I’ve found to be the most promising is pLog. Sure, its user interface (and available templates so far) might not be as pretty as Plume CMS’, but it has some nifty features including a summary page. I’ve even deployed it for some of my students and made a Quick User Guide for it. With the imminent release of the 1.0 version, presently in beta and due out in April, it just might turn out to be the most ideal choice.
Recently found Pivot. Unlike the other blogging systems I’ve tried so far, this one doesn’t require any database to run – just PHP support (which is on just about every webhost out there). The user interface is beautiful and there are also very nice looking templates available for it from sites like Pivot Styles. No wonder it has such a loyal following.
