Netscape redux
Netscape 3.0 was my web browser of choice way back when I first got on the internet way back in 1997, but as it went through feature bloat and bugginess with each update since then, I found myself using other web browsers more often, browsers like Opera, Safari and Mozilla Firefox. The latest Windows-only beta of Netscape 8
available for download hereseems to be based on Firefox, but also seems capable of using the Internet Explorer rendering engine. Not sure what’s the point in that though – open yourself up to the numerous vulnerabilities plaguing IE? :p Anyway, I’m not quite sure what to make of the new look on Netscape 8 – it strikes me as ghastly but I suppose it might grow on some.
