Blogger outages
Somehow I wasn’t surprised to read about Blogger’s frequent outages.. It wasn’t too many years ago when Hotmail was getting lots of flak for its unreliability (which prompted by jump to Yahoo Mail, which turned out to be a little better). But do users of such services really have any grounds to complain against the providers of these free services? In my opinion, if these users aren’t paying, they really ought not complain. Software, hardware and technical support all cost money after all and companies like Google and (yes, even!) Microsoft are in the business of making money.
So if you want to use their services, pay the $$$ and support them. Otherwise, don’t cry and rant when they have problems or worse, decide to pull the plug on the free services.

This, along with news of Blogger outages not too long ago, makes me really glad that I’d made the move to WordPress at the start of this year. [...]
