Marking madness

Completely overwhelmed by marking of examination scripts these few days, but that didn’t stop me from finding out that Palm has released the Palm Z22 and Palm T/X.

Or that Yahoo and Microsoft have agreed to work on instant messaging inter-operability.

Or that Apple has added some exciting features to the iMac G5, sent the eMac the way of the dodo and introduced an iPod with video playback capabilities (among other things).

And I didn’t even have to surf the web to find out any of this.

The power of the good-old grapevine (or rather, office “gossip”).

Ok, back to marking…will write more thoughts on all (or at least, some) of the above when the madness ends!

Hi … fellow-teacher here … are you using the Palm handheld for grading/marking? I do … Easy Grade Pro … has a Mac desktop component as well. Anyhow … our school uses PALM handhelds for education … grades 1 to 6, thus far. The plan is for a 1:1 handheld computer to student ratio.

    I like your blogs … :)

Thanks for the comment Rolly. :)

I do use my Zire72 for scheduling and scoring student class work in an Excel spreadsheet (via Dataviz software) in my Zire72. Bit I haven’t quite gotten around to switching to doing all my grading on the Palm.

My school is presently exploring the use of the PDA for taking down attendance and keeping track of student disciplinary records. Do share your experiences and ideas on this, thanks :)
