the birth of syamsul.net!

Couldn’t resist Yahoo’s offer of getting my own domain name for only ~$5 a year, which is really cheap even if it’s US$$, because most Singapore hosts offer it for ~S$20. So, I clicked a few buttons and..voila…syamsul.net was born!

Decided to get a cheap S$2.50 monthly plan from Focushub to go with it though, and am moving my blog and photo gallery to this account, leaving my coolsphere.org site with more space to host my school-related websites.

Had a problem logging in to cpanel on this site (got some message about the root partition being full or something) but the technical support at Focushub was really responsive and resolved the issue for me within an hour. Otherwise, so far so good – this US-based hosting doesn’t seem to be any slower than the Singapore-based hosting that coolsphere.org is on.

    just to let u know that i do recall u in percussion during outdoor ’91 if memory serves…saw tht pic of ur batch 10 years on, n was wondering if u guys still keep in touch. oh!, i was the section sl of ’88 n have been helping out with the band’s present webbie : http://rimb.net

    Hi! I think the Yahoo’s offer is such a bargain! I can really tell that you are a very dedicated teacher. I really feel sad that I didn’t know you earlier when I first came. Otherwise, I could have learned a lot more from you. Rather, I only got to know you last week, and this will be my last week…
    Sigh…I still can’t access your school site.
